Speedboat Ride around Hestur

Overview

If you are looking to rest the legs either pre or post race but still see the Faroe Islands from the water, this is a great option. This round trip from Gamlarætt in Streymoy to the island of Hestur includes sightseeing along the coastline. Seeing the Faroese landscape rise up out of the sea is truly stunning with some vertical cliff faces soaring some 1,200 feet above you. The island of Hestur harbours guillemots, puffins, black guillemots, shags, fulmars and eiders as well as seal colonies. If the weather is good, you will also sail into the caves, Álvagjógv and Klæmintsgjógv. Current and wind directions decide which way we sail around the island. The price includes: * 1.5hour boat ride. * Life jackets will be provided. The price does not include transport from Tórshavn to the meeting point. The meeting point is Gamlarætt Ferryport. To get there from Torshavn take the 101 bus from the Tórshavn bus station or to a taxi to the ferryport. Guests should bring: * A warm waterproof clothing. * Warm hat and gloves.
