Our partners Útilív will the running open Surf sessions for all abilities across the course of the week. Whilst the Faroe Islands are not a traditional surf spot, the wild Atlantic waters and the unique way the landscape affect the swells means it is fast becoming a 'must do' amongst intrepid surfers.

How does an 'open surf session' work?

Beginners will be provided with instruction and guidance from the team at Útilív whilst those with more experience can head straight out.

When are the open surf sessions?

This activity will run on the following days and times: 

04/09/2019: 15:00-17:00 

05/09/2019: 15:00-17:00 

06/09/2019: 15:00-17:00 

08/09/2019: 15:00-17:00

How do I get there?

Surf sessions will be planned to take place at Tjørnuvík (weather may change this).

Public transport goes from the bus station in Tórshavn.  Take bus number "400 Klaksvík", then you get off at Oyrabakki (the village where the bridge is).  From this stop, you will then take bus 202 towards Tjørnuvík.

What should I bring?

Towel and a change of clothes.


How do I book and how much is it?

The price is 450dkk per person/session. 

To book, please visit the Útilív Store directly once you are in Tórshavn. The shop is located on Magnus Heinasonargøta 20, with entry from Sverrisgøta and is open from 10:00-17:30 Monday-Friday. For more information, please see here: https://www.utiliv.fo/
